Django Unchained is one of Tarantino’s best films to date. Film is a powerful weapon that can influence many and Tarantino utilizes his creativity to its full potential in his 2012 film Django Unchained. Starring Jamie Foxx as Django, and Christoph Waltz as Dr. Schultz both actors use their incredible acting abilities to support Tarantino’s ideas within the film.
The film is essentially a revenge plot and represents the African American communities revenge for slavery. This is done with the motif of blood; which Tarantino often uses in his films too depict violence and his deeper subtexts. In this feature film Django becomes a bounty hunter. All of his victims are supporters of slavery and his mission is to find and save his wife. He only finds her during the second act and frees her after a blood bath of red blood all over caucasians and white walls.
Overall the film includes many comedic encounters for Django and Dr. Schultz; yet is somehow racist and anti-racism at the same time. This was purposely done by Tarantino to take the audience on a much needed journey of revenge.
